52 STEPS
1 This tutorial demonstrates the workflow is the most commonly used to create a new goal plan, but it is not the only way to create a goal plan. A separate tutorial shows how to create a New Goal Plan from the Skill Objectives Page as an option.
2 Start by selecting your patient then click on your patient's tab to open the navigation tree.
3 Click Goal Plans
4 Click +New
5 Click Goal Plan
6 Use the Description Field to create a new Name for your Goal Plan. A default name will appear and it can be edited or changed at any time.
7 The other fields on the Details tab should be set to your company defaults. They can also be edited.
Click on the Plan Items tab to begin adding items to the goal plan.
8 The +Add button in the upper left will allow you to add from the different areas of the system (based on your permissions). Click +Add
9 Click Skill Objectives to select from the a list of Skills that are on your patient's Skill Objectives Page. The S.O. page will include any skills that have previously been introduced to your patient or skills that have been planned through the page.
10 The list of skills from your patient's Skill Objectives Page will appear. Click the skill/s that should be added to this Goal Plan.
11 After selections are made, Click Select
12 At this time, the Goal Plan Builder appears. I can define targets for the skill "Category" or explore other options from the +Add button. Click +Add
13 The next option is to add Behaviors to your patient's plan. Click +Add then Behaviors
14 This list pulls from the Patient Behaviors list included in the Behavior Objectives area. Select any behavior from this list that should be tracked as part of this goal plan.
15 *Reference the tutorial for Create and Edit Patient Behaviors to learn how to manage this list of patient specific behaviors
16 If there are no behaviors in the list to choose from, or if a behavior has not yet been added, you can use the +New to create a behavior to add to this list. A behavior added here will add to the Patient Behavior list where it can be edited later
17 To create a new Patient Behavior, Select Topography from the drop down list, create a name for the skill (limit of 64 characters) and provide a detailed description (no character limit). When finished, press Save to save changes, or choose Cancel.
18 After Behaviors are selected, click Select
19 Now my skill from the Skill Objectives Page has added, and so have my 2 behaviors. Let's look at the next +Add option before we start to define targets.
20 The next option is to add from Protocol Skills. Protocol skills allows you to search for skills across your company's skill bank.
21 The file icon in the search box allows you to apply an Advanced Search filter. In this example, I want to search all skills in a specific Domain:
22 While there are many different kinds of Advanced Search options, Domain search is commonly used. You can type into the domain box to filter the domain options, or use the drop down list to search for the domain you want to search.
23 Click Search to run your search
24 These skills all come from the "Categories" domain. Click the skill/s that should be added to the goal plan.
25 Click Select
26 *The option of adding a Quick Add skill is described in a separate tutorial.
Once skills and/or behaviors are added into the Goal Plan Builder, they can be defined. Defining must happen prior to the skill or behavior adding to the goal plan.
27 The Add option is always available in the Goal Plan or Goal Plan Builder, allowing you to pick any number of skills or behaviors prior to defining.
To define targets for a skill, simply click on the skill name.
28 At least 1 target is required for skills. Click the magnifying glass icon to search the list of of targets for this skill.
29 If targets are associated with the skill, they will display here and you can multi select the target/s that should be added to the goal plan.
30 Type directly into the highlighted field at the top to create a new custom target or targets. Press "enter" after typing in the target to add it to the list.
Custom targets have a person icon on the right side. Standard targets have no icon.
31 After targets are created or chosen, press Select
32 the Presentation field is optional. To select a presentation to apply to your targets, use the magnifying glass to select from the list or create one.
33 the SD field is optional. To select a SD to apply to your targets, use the magnifying glass to select from the list or create one.
34 The Detail field is an optional, free text field.
35 Adjust the Min/Max trials for the targets selected if it is different from the default.
36 Now, Category has a check next to it, meaning it is defined.
Select the next skill or behavior. Behaviors do not require targets, but you can select the behavior to make some decisions about how it should be scored.
37 Both skills and behaviors have the option to have an interval collection type. Click the interveral box to define an interval
38 To Define an interval, start by selecting the Interval Type from the drop down list
39 There are 4 different types of intervals to choose from for both skills or behaviors. Select the type of interval that you want to use.
40 Next, enter the Interval Count: which will be the number of intervals to be run
41 Then add Total Minutes (Max of 60 minutes) or total amount of time you will be collecting interval data. The system will calculate the interval length based on the entries for count and total minutes.
42 Behaviors have the option of being scored by Frequency, Duration or Interval. Once an interval is defined, you can uncheck the box for Discrete Trial to turn off the Frequency and Duration options.
43 For the next behavior, I won't do an interval, but I will choose to remove the option for Duration data.
44 Uncheck the "Show Duration" box to remove it as a collection option. Frequency cannot be removed unless the behavior will be scored as an interval only.
45 Currently 3 of the 4 items are ready to be added to the goal plan. I need to define the last skill of "Objects Identification"
46 With the right permissions, you can choose the NET option in addition to or in lieu of defining targets. Selecting NET will allow that skill to be added to the Goal Plan.
47 After all skills in the Goal Plan builder have checks next to them, meaning they have all been defined, Click Add to put those items on the goal plan.
48 Make sure to Save often.
49 After the goal plan refreshes from a Save, it is safe to press Close.
Edits, additions and organization of activities are all optional things that can be done on a goal plan. Please watch additional tutorials to explore these workflows.
50 Confirm Yes to close the goal plan.
51 The goal plan has now been created and appears "In-Use" (meaning, it's active) in the Goal Plan list.

That's it. You're done.
